Welcome to GeoTherm Services

GeoTherm Services, based in Asheville, NC, is your resource for detailed information relating to the design and installation of ground source heat pump systems, commonly referred to as geothermal heating and cooling systems. We work with a select group of professionally trained heating and cooling contractors, who are authorized dealers for the leading manufacturers of ground source heat pump equipment such as ClimateMaster and WaterFurnace. At GeoTherm Services, our goal is to ensure that customers fully understand and select the best geothermal system for their specific needs.

What is Geothermal and why is it better?

A ground source heat pump, or geothermal system, is a method of heating and cooling using very similar technology to regular heat pumps in service around the country. The major difference is that a regular heat pump is relying on the outside temperature, which changes substantially from season to season, to provide the heat transfer needed to heat or cool a building. A ground source heat pump relies on the earth's temperature, which remains constant throughout the year. Once the outside temparature falls below 40 degrees, conventional heat pumps struggle to provide enough heat to maintain a comfortable temperature. This is where auxillary heat kicks in and utility bills begin to skyrocket.
